A Method in LabLog is a generic term used to describe a set of step by step instructions or experiment templates that a laboratory user can follow to record an experiment.
A method in LabLog enables your team to reproducibly perform experiments and keep track of their progress. All experiments performed from a method are linked to the source method. This makes tracking and auditing experiment notes efficient, reliable, and simple.
A Task in LabLog is a generic term used to describe the records of activities or experiments that were performed in a laboratory. A task can be created either directly in the Tasks page or by performing a method in the Methods page.
Once a method is performed it is saved as a Task. Although tasks can define a wide range of activities in the lab they usually refer to experiments. Records of mental activities such as ideas can also be recorded as tasks for later follow up or for intellectual property protection.
